Live The Dream: The Texas Longhorns' Magical March To The 2005 National Championship

Live The Dream: The Texas Longhorns' Magical March To The 2005 National Championship
At the conclusion of the 2005 Rose Bowl, a game won in the last seconds by the University of Texas, star quarterback Vince Young told the crowd and the press that Texas would return to the Rose Bowl in 2006 to battle it out for the BCS Championship. One year later, his prophecy was realized by what is being called by many the greatest college football game ever as the Texas Longhorns ended the three year reign of the USC Trojans with a stunning come-from-behind victory. With the Rose Bowl as the backdrop and Vince Young's performance-for-the-ages as a centerpiece this is the official year-in-review DVD chronicling the Texas Longhorns' dream season and march to the BCS Championship in Pasadena. Starting with the 2005 Rose Bowl, "Magical March" will relive the entire 2005-06 Longhorns season as UT returns to the top of the college football world after a 35-year absence from a national, championship season, The show will: set the stage by looking back at the legend that is Texas football from the high school fields that gave us "Friday Night Lights" to the championship seasons under coaching great Darrel Royal; trace the UT season beginning with spring practice and the pre-season in the Texas heat; go behind the scenes with Coach Mack Brown as he devises plans to beat long time rivals Ohio State and Oklahoma; trace Vince Young's amazing season with his retrospective commentary on a year that will long be remembered as one of the greatest in college football; live the Rose Bowl build up including the team's trip to Disneyland, Lawry's Beef Bowl and pre-game practice for the game for the ages; using game footage and highlights, analyze UT's upset victory over the Trojans whom many had billed as the greatest college team of all-time; celebrate the victory with the team, coaching staff and the fans as the Longhorns become the national champions.

Beyond The Gridiron: The Life & Times Of Woody Hayes
Beyond The Gridiron: The Life & Times Of Woody Hayes
Among the greatest college football coaches of all time, Wayne Woodrow Hayes was a complex man. The classic field general was steeped in military tradition that included discipline, hard work, pride, commitment and loyalty. Off the field, Hayes was a compassionate man, with a heart "as big as Ohio." Woody Hayes epitomized the running game with a style of team play often referred to as "three yards and a cloud of dust." But he was also a man devoted to the quality of his players' lives and to providing a positive growth experience during their college years. Scholarship and academic achievement were stressed in ways rarely seen in today's college football programs. Woody Hayes believed that football success should come secondary to academic excellence. "The Life & Times of Woody Hayes" chronicles Hayes' rise from high school coach in a small Ohio town to college football dominance as the head coach of the Ohio State University Buckeyes. His teams won 5 National Titles and 4 Rose Bowls. Woody Hayes was twice elected Coach of the Year. The first ever public television documentary on Woody Hayes also looks at the times that shaped the man, from WWI through the Vietnam War and the Civil Rights Movement. Never shy with an opinion, Woody Hayes was deeply political and never compromised his beliefs, no matter how unpopular. Through it all, Woody Hayes remains one of the most controversial sports figures in American history. Loved, hated, revered, and despised...but always a winner.
